Clayhill are an outstanding band typically somewhat overlooked. Founded by Beth Orton collaborator Ted Barnes, Red Snapper's Ali Friend and Sunhouse's Gavin Clark in 2002 they released a number of records which I was involved with from an additional production, mixing and remixing perspective. Gavin's voice, right up there with Mark Hollis, Nick Drake and Jeff Buckley has more drawl than a stoned Texan and has most recently found fame with James Lavelle's UNKLE. They've also collaborated extensively with director Shane Meadows on This is England and Somer's Town. Outstanding music. Lovely people. Brilliant.
